IMPLEMENTING AND MAINTAINING A TS 16949:2002 SYSTEM

This Manual Is For Use with the IQS Quality Performance Management System.


4 Quality Management System


4.1 General requirements

The organization shall establish, document, implement and maintain a quality management system and continually improve its effectiveness in accordance with the requirements of this International Standard.

The organization shall

a) identify the processes needed for the quality management system and their
application throughout the organization (see 1.2),

• DOCUMENT, PRODUCT, and PROCESS document the Business System, including quality. The PROCESS module can define and support the Automotive Industry Process Approach on such areas such as Support Processes and Management Processes.

b) determine the sequence and interaction of these processes,

• DOCUMENT, PRODUCT, and PROCESS have an inter relationship showing the interaction of the Business system

c) determine criteria and methods needed to ensure that both the operation and control
of these processes are effective,

• DOCUMENT, PRODUCT, and PROCESS all have audit functions to ensure effectiveness. AUDIT MANAGER allows for system audits.

d) ensure the availability of resources and information necessary to support the
operation and monitoring of these processes ,

• PROCESS will define resources required. PROCESS and COLLECT will store the information required to monitor these processes. EMPLOYEE will maintain the availability of such resources.

e) monitor, measure and analyze these processes, and

• PROCESS and COLLECT will define the process and collection of data to be analyzed. SUPPLIER and CUSTOMER communication’s store the information to be measured and analyzed.

f) implement actions necessary to achieve planned results and continual improvement of these processes.

• EMPLOYEE defines management review meetings allowing for action to achieve desired results. EMPLOYEE allows for self-assessments with in the suppliers facilities. CUSTOMER and SUPPLIER allows for assessments outside the suppliers facility. APQP allows for definitions of actions.

These processes shall be managed by the organization in accordance with the
requirements of this International Standard.
